We were common to you

Kongini and Mandaram are exceptional flowers with medicinal profits. They are widely used for decorating Athapookalam, These flowers of Onam lore are at their extreme poles. First Mandaram is mono-colored, dominated individuals with petals bearing exposed parts whereas the Kongini is a group of Mini flowers forms an inflorescence that dominates with various ranges of color shades. Yep, a magic of odorless and unpleasant flowers can be seen in traditional Pookalam but these flowers which were common in our localities are now hard to get due to unbearable human activities. We have to conserve them not only for Onam but also for the ecosystem which provides us with lore, happiness, and essence.f

Whereas rural celebrations entirely vary with the extreme touch of nature with very traditional practices of togetherness. Urban centre Onam is flourished by posters of Onam advertisements, money gathering, and Pookalam with accessible flowers.
